We’ve just posted a two-part walkthrough where director Victor plays through sections of our upcoming story-driven adventure-strategy game Rain of Reflections, guiding you through the universe and the gameplay.
Check it out below!
Rain of Reflections: Chapter 1 will be released on September 27.
In the richly layered dystopian world of Rain of Reflections, you will meet a cast of strong willed characters and make decisions that will shape the future.
Rain of Reflections: Chapter 1– titled “Set Free” – follows Wilona, a scientist trying to cure a global epidemic of infertility. When Wilona begins to have doubts about the morality of the experiments she’s running on the world’s lastborn child, she sets off on a life-or-death quest across the pristine towers of the wealthy elite, the flooded slums of the underclass, and the cold, sterile halls of the state’s laboratories.
As September 20, the game’s release date, is rapidly getting closer, today we introduce you to the main characters of the Rain of Reflections:
The lead character from whose perspective we experience Chapter 1, Wilona is a highly educated scientist torn between living up to the expectations of her powerful parents, Michael and Aurora, the two pulling her in opposite directions.
As we enter the story, Wilona has finally decided to stand up for herself and take control of her own destiny. Turning her back to her Supran upper-class life, she’s now setting in motion the plan to free humanity’s lastborn child at the Labs, where she’s spent years under her father taking part in increasingly questionable experiments.
Wilona is a crafty, idealistic and intelligent force to be reckoned with, and her stealth abilities allows for her to avoid violent conflict – if she should so choose…
Wilona is played by actor Anna Ståhl.
A careerist in politics, Wilona’s mother Aurora has managed to reach a prestigious minister position in distant capital Phexus, from which she increasingly feels the need to watch over and control her daughter in OneCity.
After learning about a growing resistance known as the Infrareds, she now worries Wilona somehow will get caught in the turmoil of this rising rebellion. She’s ready to do anything in her power to stop this from happening – including compromising her daughter’s very freedom and integrity…
Aurora is played by actor Jennifer Knipe.
Wilona’s father Michael is a Supran science officer leading key experiments, currently focused on the lastborn child.
Working towards saving humankind, he is fully committed to his work and of the absolute conviction that whatever he’s doing, however unethical, is for the right reasons.
Michael expects full loyalty and commitment from his employees, especially his own daughter, and with all his heart in his work, he also regards the Project Fusion subjects his children by extension.
Michael is played by actor Stephen Rappaport.
Both a colleague and friend of Wilona’s, Luca has been assisting her in the experiments at the Labs, under Michael’s close watch.
Luca may not be as upper-class as Wilona and also has an ear to the street, but he still resides in a Supran area of OneCity, and just like her he’s now shifting his loyalties towards freeing the lastborn child rather than contributing to her misery.
Luca has even gone as far as establishing contact with and involving resistance movement the Infrareds, in the plan that they’ve dubbed “Operation Defuse”.
Luca is played by actor Anastasios Soulis.
Urban has claimed the Temple ruins of the Northern Trench as his own, and stops at nothing to have it stay that way.
Crafty at modifying scrap into powerful tools of destruction, he’s become a somewhat successful arms trader with time. Beyond his dealings however, Urban prefers to avoid interactions with humans as he mistrusts most of them – the main reason being their repeated attempts at taking the Temple and his gathered arms away from him.
Instead, he has invested his delusional affection into a custom made power generator that he’s conveniently named Gwen.
Urban is played by actor Richard Ulfsäter.
The Arbiter leads the task force that has been sent from Phexus – the Supran capital – to fetch and escort Wilona back with her to safety with Mother.
She has a careless tendency to abuse her power to prove just how untouchable she really is, not only in intercity diplomacy but also in the hierarchies of the OneForce.
Since she’s equipped with deadly Phexus technology and skillful in using it, anybody without a death wish should probably stay out of her way…
OneForce Bolts & Leaders
The OneForce are to uphold the law in OneCity, keeping its citizens in check inside the city walls, and they consider anything less than this level of control to just be chaos.
Utilizing electricity and lightning as their main resource and power, even channelling it between each other and any related technology inside of their own carefully crafted ecosystem, they are able to pacify, or straight down fry, any threat.
Members of the OneForce are very loyal to each other, and consider themselves to be pure and righteous, but many would argue that they outright oppress the people, discriminating between upper-class Suprans and bottom-feeding Trenchers.
Part of the Phexus guardian force, Wings are agile special operatives trained to contain any threat as smoothly and discreetly as possible.
Sent to OneCity on a mission to secure and extract Wilona, they are also under strict orders to look after, protect and assist The Arbiter; both of which will prove to be easier said than done…

”Rain of Reflections’ ambitious story will feature multiple chapters, each of them a full tale in itself, adding layers to the story and showing completely new and fresh areas and gameplay through different perspectives. ”Chapter 2 – “Open Eye” – will follow a deadbeat private investigator in a cyberpunk district called The Cluster, while Chapter 3 – “Undercurrent” – will shed light on the Infrared underground resistance movement and its front figure, Imra.
Stockholm, November 6, 2018 – Swedish indie studio Lionbite Games is proud to finally present the first look at the gameplay in its upcoming dystopian adventure Rain of Reflections, with a trailer consisting entirely of in-game, real time footage.
The introductory Rain of Reflections chapter – “Set Free” – centers around Wilona, a scientist working towards a solution to our future world’s sudden infertility. As she starts doubting the morality of the experiments, she decides to free the live subject – the lastborn child – from captivity. This will prove difficult, as powerful forces try to stop her.

Choose how you play – point and click your character to where you want them to go using a mouse, or gain direct control of their movement with a gamepad.
Contemplate every choice in a system that halts to await your every input, but make sure you tread lightly – once a choice is made, its consequences will be definitive and may affect characters living or dying and even the very outcome of the story…
Beyond the first release, Chapter 2 –“Open Eye” – will focus on deadbeat private investigator Dwennon West in a cyberpunk-esque city district called The Cluster, and Chapter 3 – “Undercurrent” – will give an insight into the Infrared resistance movement defending their underground hideout The Root, where the player assumes the perspective of front figure Imra.
Rain of Reflections is being created by indie studio Lionbite Games – a small, ambitious team based in Stockholm, Sweden – and first chapter “Set Free” is planned for a release on PC in the coming months.
Stockholm, Sweden – Swedish indie studio Lionbite Games proudly gives you an insight into the premise of cyberpunk adventure game Rain of Reflections – with a first trailer.
For the past two years, Lionbite’s small but ambitious team has been hard at work crafting the cyberpunk inspired, dystopian world in Rain of Reflections, fleshing out concepts and engaging talented actors in bringing life to its characters.
Lionbite can finally show the result of the progress with a first trailer, focusing on the premise that sets the game’s choice-driven journey in motion.
This “story trailer” introduces the three main protagonists – Wilona, Dwennon and Imra – each with a unique perspective on the events that unfold. The player controls each one consecutively, shaping a unique story through choices along their intersecting paths.
Wilona, part of the societal upper class sheltered in the Stem, has faithfully been following in her father’s footsteps as a scientist, which has gotten her involved in experiments on human children.
Dwennon is a private investigator drifting in the shadows of his own past, retreated to one the city’s more rugged urban areas, called the Cluster.
Imra is a prominent part of the Infrareds, a resistance group struggling against the oppression, holed up in a bunker referred to as the Root.
Rain of Reflections is an atmospheric, cyberpunk flavored adventure game. Its turn-based strategic confrontations are uniquely centered around a motivation mechanic. Every move and choice made by the player as the three different protagonists is permanent and will have consequences on the world and its characters.
Rain of Reflections is aimed for a debut on PC during 2018, with additional platforms considered for a later release.
Lionbite Games is a indie game development studio in Stockholm, Sweden. The small but ambitious team consists of veteran developers and new talents alike, led by former games journalist Victor Lionhead, focused on creating quality-over-quantity video game experiences for PC, Mac, current-gen consoles and mobile devices.
Stockholm, Sweden – Swedish indie studio Lionbite Games unveils debut title, cyberpunk noir role-playing game Rain of Reflections.
Rain of Reflections tells its noiresque story through three protagonists, two of which are female. The player will get to experience life in the futuristic, dystopian city through all three perspectives, ranging through society’s layers and social classes, interweaving the highly choice-driven journey.
Ambience and mood is an important part of the experience and the player is encouraged to explore the detailed environments in which the adventure is set, learning about the world and its characters (no scattered audio-logs or trails of notes – guaranteed!).
Rain of Reflections finds strengths in limitations. Lionbite Games wants to break RPG conventions by avoiding typical genre mechanics to focus on the very essence. The game will constantly move forward, without fillers, repetitive battles or monotonous grinding.
The battle system is deeply connected to the story and centered around a unique morale mechanic, allowing the player to use environments, ruse tactics, threats and even smart dialogue choices to handle confrontations without resorting to mindlessly blowing enemies to pieces.
Every choice has a consequence. The player is forced to live with them. In the words of the game’s leading characters: “This is my story. This is your story. This is our story. To the very end.”
Rain of Reflections is being developed in the Unity game engine for PC, with additional platforms considered for a later release.
